I am a current SAP'er and with the evolution of Object Oriented programming this book is a must have for anyone who is interested in keeping up with the times. This book provides an excellent step-by-step layout to help any level of programmer. I always enjoy providing feedback both constructive and supportive with reference materials I've purchased. A must read

The LOCKET is BY FAR one of my favorite MIKE EVANS novels, and I have read them all right from the start. The character of SARAH was extremely well developed. The way the story develops I felt that I was part of the family I cried when she was in pain and cheered when she was able to allude the Nazis. The history of the plight of the Jews families in Austria was handled in a way that you felt that you were there. I thought the ending was subtle yet masterful. I hope to read more about this remarkable lady in a future novel and wish to thank the author for once again an excellent exhilarating novel to savor.

Wim Naude holds the Chair in Business and Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. He is also Dean of the Maastricht School of Management and a Research Fellow at IZA, the Institute for the Study of Labour, in Bonn, Germany. A graduate of the University of Warwick, he was previously Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT in Maastricht, Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER in Helsinki, Professor and Director of Research at North-West University in South Africa and Research Officer at the Centre for the Study of African Economies, University of Oxford.


Adam Szirmai is Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT and Professor of Development Economics at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance of Maastricht University. His research focuses on structural change, innovation and long-term economic development in developing countries. Jointly with Wim Naude and Micheline Goedhuys he is editor Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Economic Development published by Oxford University Press in 2011 and with Wim Naude and Ludovico Alcorta editor of Pathways to Industrialization in the 21st Century published by Oxford University Press in 2013. A second edition of his textbook Socio-Economic Development is to be published by Cambridge University Press in 2015.

Nobuya Haraguchi is Industrial Research Officer at the Research, Statistics and Industrial Policy branch of UNIDO in Vienna. He led a research team for the production of UNIDO Industrial Development Report 2013, Sustaining Employment Growth: The Role of Manufacturing and Structural Change. He has published widely on structural change, patterns of manufacturing and industrial policy and practice. Before joining UNIDO, he taught macroeconomics at St. John's University in the United States. He holds a PhD from the University of London.

I microscopic print of one of the best philosophical texts ever

The work itself is inarguably the best version of Lucretius, and that would be an automatic 5 stars. Unfortunately, the size of the thing is so small, it borders on being a prank. It's 5x7" and the text appears 3-4pt font, which is barely larger than a pharmaceuticals insert you get with medicine. It really seems like Oxford University Press is telling us all, "we have the best of the best in Latin, and we're the only source, so we can totally give you the middle finger, and you'll still be back for more. So go buy a magnifying glass and shut up about it." The size of this book is an insult to the reader.

Crazy, intense and dramatic, I loved this book!

Wow! I laughed, I cried, and I rooted for this couple. Rocker Liam Collier is immediately drawn to the quiet, enigmatic Abby Chan from first glance. His new songs requires a string section in his band and she is the new cellist. She a tiny little angel of a woman and completely opposite of the women he's typically drawn to.

Abby's life long dream is to make it into the Philadelphia Philharmonic so with her new Masters of Music degree from Juilliard she has the summer to prepare for her audition and a summer gig with the rock band Point Break to earn some of the money to pay her mom back. Having recently broken up with her boyfriend, she isn't looking for any kind of relationship and certainly not with a rock and roll God like Liam Collier. But it's hard to ignore the zing that sparks between the two every time they are together.

With just a moderate amount of relationship experience that hardly prepares her for the feelings she is experiencing, Abby is suddenly realizing there is a wild woman desperate to escape from within, but can she trust her heart to the wild rocker? And with Liam's history of partying, booze and groupies can Abby trust the rocker that is quickly stealing her heart?

Liam is pulled between the lifestyle he now lives in, rocking out with his besties and the after parties with endless booze and women he suddenly finds himself pulled between his feelings for Abby and keeping up his image as the wild front man. And his so-called buddies have their own agenda, which is conflicting with Liam's desires for Abby. Can two total opposites find a middle ground that can work?

I totally fell in love with Abby and Liam and totally fell in hate with Liam's best friend Tucker, who only seems to have his own best interests at heart, no matter who he destroys in the process. I can't image how the next book in the series deals with Tucker after his behavior in this book and yet I can't wait to read it. Amazing book!

Rock Strong is a book that describes the journey to happiness of two very different people.

Rock Strong is the story of Rock star Liam Collier and cellist Abby Chan.

Two people who love music but come from different worlds.

Liam is the typical rock star indulging in parties and woman.

Abby is a cellist hired to accompany his band on tour. She does it for the money and earns an experience she didn’t dream of.

The first meeting between them was awkward as Tucker, one of Liam's band members was acting like a jerk towards Abby.

But things quickly changed. Liam apologized for his friend and the tour started with a positive note.

Slowly, Liam and Abby realized they are attracted to each other and start a relationship.

A relationship between 2 different people isn’t easy and both Abby and Liam have personal issues to overcome and make their relationship work.

I liked Liam's initial approach to the matter: consulting his friend Garrick (who we met in a previous book ) who is one of the few friends Liam has who is in a relationship.

Communication is key and once Liam realized that, things progressed with Abby.

I loved seeing Abby get accustomed to the world Liam lives in, so much different than her world, but still stayed true to herself..

I liked seeing her grow more confident. She stood her ground when Liam made a mistake and made me admire her.

She didn’t stay and wait for him to process his feelings and actions. She took action that made him act.

Rock Strong is a book that describes the journey to happiness of two very different people.

A book that shows us that with work & communication it is possible to find and keep love.

When Classic Girl meets Bad Boy Rocker the fire burns bright

Say It Strong is the second story in the Say You Love Me series, and it is an absolutely awesome story.
In Say it Strong, we meet classically trained musician Abby who to make a few extra dollars she takes a job playing cello for rocker bad boy Liam's band Point Break. With big dreams for her future Abby wants nothing more than to get the summer over, get paid, and get back home to chase her dreams of being in the New York Philharmonic.However, after meeting her new boss at a party Abby can't deny the heat that Liam sparks in her.
Liam has lead the party hard rockstar lifestyle with parties and booze overflowing at every turn, however he can't ignore the fact that he also is lonely with the life he's made. Not quite ready to settle down, his world is turned upside down by one elegant and fiesty cello player.
With the sparks flying on every page, Abby and Liam are still chasing their dreams.However will the fire they feel around each other be enough to make them see what they want out of life?
Say it Strong was full of heat and passion, romantic without crossing over to the cheesy side of things. I was addicted to the story quickly and couldn't put it down! A great five star read, you won't regret picking up. I'm so excited to see what Virna has in store for the next book!

About the Author
Joan Saslow is the author of a number of textbook series for adults and young adults, including "Ready to Go," "Workplace Plus," and "Literacy Plus," She was also the Series Director of "True Colors: An EFL Course for Real Communication," and of "True Voices," an EFL video course. Ms. Saslow's special interest is in distinguishing the needs of the EFL and ESL learner and creating materials appropriate for each. Ms. Saslow has taught in Chile and the United States in a variety of programs, including binational centers, academic programs, intensive language programs, and workplace programs. Ms. Saslow has been an editor, a teacher-trainer, a language learner, and a frequent speaker at gatherings of English teachers throughout the world. Allen Ascher, formerly Director of the International English Language Institute at Hunter College, has been a teacher, teacher-trainer, author, and publisher. He has taught in language and teacher-training programs in both China and the United States. Mr. Ascher has an MA in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University. SPOILER -- Not a HEA

I have never written a review - let alone, a negative one -- but I was so very upset by the ending of this book, that I felt the need to warn people that this is definitely NOT a HEA. If it upsets you to get all wrapped up in a story only to have the last chapter knock you for a loop, don't purchase this story!

Erik "Dash" Dashling - Reckless, Dangerous, and Smoking Hot

Erik "Dash" Dashling will have readers panting for more and wondering what this reckless and dangerous man will do to not only keep a job that's made for him but the girl he's willing to break all the rules for after only one night together.

Dash is definitely an interesting character. He's lived his life on the edge, following his own rules, and while his inability to follow the law should get him into a whole heap of trouble, he always finds a way out of it with his smooth talking and deep pockets, and this time around, it might just land him a career where he can use his adventurous side to put him on top. Tabatha is a work in progress. She's a smart mouthed and strong willed woman who fell for the wrong guy and ended up becoming someone she didn't recognize. But that's the past, and now she's all about reclaiming her old self and putting her needs above all else.

Both Dash and Tabatha have a lot at risk by not only putting their hearts on the line, but giving into a relationship that is not as open and honest as it should be, and because secrets always have a way of coming out, deception can lead to catastrophic events, which seems to be where Dash and Tabatha are headed as the story continues, both individually and as a couple, due to outside players and their vendettas against the hot couple, which spells trouble for their relationship and even Dash's career.

There's multiple factors to consider in Dash and Tabatha outing their relationship to the public eye and with Tabatha's insecurities and Dash's risky profession, nothing is cut and dry and the risks they face might be too much for them to endear, especially when the hits just seem to keep coming.

Tabatha and Dash are great characters and their banter and hot connection truly fly off the page, but they definitely frustrated me throughout the story, especially Tabatha. I know she's been hurt, and she's hesitant to start another relationship, but she cuts and runs over any issue, and I don't blame Dash for being frustrated. Do I condone some of his acts, absolutely not, but Tabatha needs to understand his side of the situation as well and that doesn't seem to happen throughout much of the text.

Dash is an angsty, emotional journey for not only the main characters but the readers as well. A lot of miscommunication and jumping to conclusions hinder the progress Dash and Tabatha make in their relationship and others' interference also complicates matters, but Shantel proves how much they belong to each other, heart and soul, regardless of the obstacles.

DASH makes a bad boy seem really good.

Note: No spoilers in this review so that you can enjoy the developments like I did...the good, bad and surprising.

I received this ARC from the author for a review today. Let me start with this: I LOVE DASH!!! Dash and Tabitha have one of those relationships that should never have worked out. The way it starts gives every indication that this is going to be a short, short novella. But Shantel brings the story of these 2 characters full circle. I do mean full circle.

Tabitha is one of those women you want to be your new BFF. She fits in with the girls and can hold her own with the men. She makes me laugh in her "get aways". Dash is not your typical book boyfriend. Just when you think you know who this character is going to be he surprises you. Sometimes you grow to love the main characters but in DASH you love Tabitha immediately. She looks at her life with some humor. There are a few darker moments in this book. Some seem like a natural part of the character development but there is one part that made me sit up in the dark and want to go and make Shantel buy me a drink. Make it a double!

The plot points take you in a direction that I for one was not expecting. I was surprised at the developments but it only made me love them more. The title is Dash but this story is about 2 people not looking for a relationship and as any good friend will tell you "When you are not looking you find it". This book can read as a stand alone or can easily open up the door for another installation in the life of Tabitha.

I loved that this book starts with (no spoiler) a speeding motorcycle ride. It immediately made me want to know Dash and what makes him tick. He seems like a rebel but you realize fairly quickly that he is someone who knows he can survive anything.

About the Author

James M. Rubenstein received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1975. He was Professor of Geography at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, where he taught urban and human geography, and where he helped develop the new Sustainability co-major in the Institute for the Environment & Sustainability.

 

He is also the author of Pearson’s The Cultural Landscape and Introduction to Contemporary Geography. He is often invited to give talks and presentations at colleges, high schools, and professional meetings.

 

Rubenstein works as a regional consultant for the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank and he conducts research in the automotive industry. He is often interviewed by the media on automotive and economic issues, and has published three books on the subject: The Changing U.S. Auto Industry: A Geographical Analysis (Routledge); Making and Selling Cars: Innovation and Change in the U.S. Auto Industry (The Johns Hopkins University Press); and Who Really Made Your Car? Restructuring and Geographic Change in the Auto Industry (W.E. Upjohn Institute, with Thomas Klier).

 

He is a semi-amateur, semi-professional painter, and displays his work at galleries in Maryland and Ohio.

I am glad that some professors allow students to choose whether or ...

Required book for a college course that is now requiring a new book to be purchased with a one-time-use access code. It seems that publishers are finding new ways to avoid sustainability and circumvent the used book market by making colleges assign these new book bundles. I am glad that some professors allow students to choose whether or not they want to buy the bundle, which includes some extras including study guides, or opt out and buy/rent the used books and save money. At NVCC in Manassas, every class this semester "required" the access code bundles at $150-278 a book. Multiply that by 6 classes and you get a cost-prohibitive situation for most students. I was glad that find this book as an inexpensive rental, and I'll go the extra mile and scour the book for my answers and make my own study guide. If it costs me a half a grade or more, it may be worth it to be able to afford college.

The 1st , 2nd , and the third chapter are separate from the book itself . It is hard to study with a book whose pages will fall down any minute' besides, it is very imbarceing using this book in class . But Thankfully, we have page numbers :)
