Excellent information, but small format makes it difficult to see drawn images and read.

This is a great book to keep as a reference for recreational or survival camping. This book is PACKED with information and survival camping tips. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1. This is a smaller format book, 5.3 x 8.3 inches, by 1.5 thick. The format is so small, it's VERY difficult at times to clearly see the small hand-drawn images and read the small text, that's in a handwriting font, that's with the pictures. 2. Because of the small format, the binding fell apart within a few days of receiving this book. There's a larger format version of this book available that's 8.5 x 11 x 1. I would recommend the larger format of this book. I also have the larger format, and the larger format book is definitely a 5 star book that any camper or prepper should own.

Exceeded expectations

I gave this book as a gift to an avid camper. Wasn't sure how it would be received but she started reading it immediately and we went camping the next week. My friend the camper actively used some of the suggestions that week. It really came in handy. The book is great for people who think that there is nothing left to learn or who just like to test methods to see if something works. You too can be a Mr. know it all Rocky! Not as much on catching fish as I had hoped.

This is one of the most complete outdoor/survival guides I have ever read. This book covers everything from fire making, ice and mountain climbing, radio signals, wildlife around the global and even pioneer weather indicators. I truly recommend this book as most have for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

Very interesting and appropriate for my esl students in Italy

I've been using intro, 1, 2, and 3 very effectively in the classroom. Interesting topics and useful multiple choice quiz at the end of the lectures, making it very practical for the classroom. I hope the come up with new ones, and with other topics soon.
